for Blue Light Maps Limited

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Blue Light Maps mobile applications (“Software”), our website located at https://bluelightmaps.com, and any related services provided by Blue Light Maps (collectively referred to as the “Service”).

When you create a Blue Light Maps account or use the Service, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with these Terms of Service, you are prohibited from further use of the Service.

If you access or download the Software from (1) the Apple App Store, you agree to any Usage Rules set forth in the App Store Terms of Service; and/or (2) the Google Play Store, you agree to the Android, Google Inc. Terms and Conditions including the Google Apps Terms of Service.

We, Blue Light Maps Limited (“Blue Light Maps”), reserve the right to review and amend any of these Terms of Service at our sole discretion. Upon doing so, we will update this page and/or notify you via the email address you provided when you created your account. Any changes to these Terms of Service will take effect immediately from the date of publication.

These Terms of Service were last updated on 4 March 2025.

1. Limitations of Use

By using the Service, you warrant on behalf of yourself, any entity who you represent who has entered into these Terms of Service, and your users that you will not:

  1. modify, copy, prepare derivative works of, decompile, or reverse engineer Blue Light Maps or any materials and software contained within Blue Light Maps or on our website;
  2. remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from Blue Light Maps or any materials and software contained within Blue Light Maps or on our website;
  3. transfer Blue Light Maps or any of its associated materials to another person or “mirror” the materials on any other server;
  4. knowingly or negligently use Blue Light Maps or any of its associated services in a way that abuses or disrupts our networks or any other service Blue Light Maps provides;
  5. use Blue Light Maps or its associated services to transmit or publish any harassing, indecent, obscene, fraudulent, or unlawful material;
  6. use Blue Light Maps or its associated services in violation of any applicable laws or regulations;
  7. use Blue Light Maps to send unauthorised advertising or spam;
  8. harvest, collect, or gather user data without the user’s consent; or
  9. use Blue Light Maps or its associated services in such a way that may infringe the privacy, intellectual property rights, or other rights of third parties.

2. Intellectual Property

The intellectual property in the materials in the Software and on our website are owned by or licensed to Blue Light Maps Limited. You may download the Software to view, use and display the application on your mobile device for your use only.

This constitutes the grant of a license, not a transfer of title. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions or these Terms of Service and may be terminated by Blue Light Maps at any time.

3. GB Map Data – Ordnance Survey Terms

Blue Light Maps utilises geographic data licensed from Ordnance Survey (“OS”), the national mapping agency for Great Britain (“GB”). OS provides detailed and authoritative geographic data, which we incorporate to enhance your experience with accurate and up-to-date map data for GB.

Your use of this data is governed by the Public Sector Geospatial Agreement (PSGA), a contractual framework between OS and the UK government. The PSGA allows members of public sector organisations and their partners to access and use OS data to deliver services and benefits to the public.

In accessing GB data via the Blue Light Maps app, you confirm that you are a member of a public sector organisation that is party to the PSGA.

You are granted a non-exclusive, royalty free, revocable licence solely to view the licensed data for use in accordance with your PSGA Members Licence for the period during which we make it available.

Third party rights to enforce the terms of this licence shall be reserved to OS.

4. Location Services

Some features of the Service make use of detailed location and route information, for example in the form of GPS signals and other information sent by your mobile device on which the Software is installed and activated. These features cannot be provided without using this technology.

Please note, as described in detail in the Privacy Policy. (I) Blue Light Maps may share your anonymised location and route information to be able to send alerts via third party services when using the Service. (II) Blue Light Maps uses this data to offer the Service to you, to improve the quality of the Service it offers and to improve the accuracy of its technology. This data is retained by Blue Light Maps for a limited period of time and in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

5. The Licence

The Software is licensed, not sold, under the following subscription-based license types:

5.1. Individual User Licence

A licence purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store grants a single user the non-transferable right to install and use the Software for the duration of their subscription, in accordance with these Terms of Service and the applicable app store terms. An individual may also purchase a licence directly through our website.

5.2. Enterprise Licence

An Enterprise Licence grants an organisation (“Licensee”) the right to allow use of the Software by up to the maximum number of Licensed Users specified in their current licence entitlement for the duration of their subscription period, subject to the following terms:

5.2.1. Enterprise Licence Compliance

Licensee shall ensure the number of Users accessing or using the Software does not exceed the licensed quantity in any given calendar month. A User means an individual employee or contractor authorised by Licensee to use the Software.

Licensee shall maintain accurate records of all Users and their usage.

5.2.2. Enterprise Licence Fee Adjustments

If a Licensee’s actual number of Users exceeds the agreed number of Licensed Users in any calendar month, Blue Light Maps may invoice the Organisation for the excess usage at the applicable per-seat rate. Payment must be made within 30 days of invoicing.

Blue Light Maps reserves the right to conduct audits to verify compliance with licensing terms. Refusal to cooperate with an audit or failure to pay overages within 30 days shall be considered a material breach of this Agreement, which may result in suspension or termination of access to the Service.

5.2.3. Enterprise Subscription and Renewal

Enterprise Licences will automatically renew for an additional term equal to the previous subscription duration at Blue Light Maps’ then-current rates unless the Licensee provides written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days prior to the renewal date.

All subscription fees are non-refundable, including pre-paid annual or monthly fees. If an Enterprise Licence is cancelled, access will continue until the end of the current billing period, and no pro-rata refunds will be issued.

Blue Light Maps reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if payment is not received by the due date, and Blue Light Maps has given the Licensee no fewer than ten (10) days notice.

5.2.4. Enterprise Monitoring and Audit Rights

Blue Light Maps monitors usage patterns and User counts through automated systems. Any excess usage detected through our monitoring systems will be treated as a licence violation. Blue Light Maps reserves the right to audit a Licensee’s use of the Software upon reasonable notice.

The Licensee must cooperate with such audits and provide reasonable assistance and access to accurate information regarding use of the Software. If monitoring or audit reveals excess usage, the Licensee shall promptly pay additional licence fees for the entire period of excess use. Blue Light Maps reserves the right to suspend service if excess usage is detected and not promptly remediated or paid for.

6. Modifications and Updates

Blue Light Maps may, either partially or in its entirety and without being obligated to provide prior notice – modify, adapt or change the Software, the Service’s features, the user interface and design, the extent and availability of the contents in the Service and any other aspect related to the Service. You will have no claim, complaint or demand against Blue Light Maps for applying such changes or for failures incidental to such changes.

You give us permission to download and install updates to the Software on your device(s) in accordance with your device settings. This permission can be revoked at any time by deleting the Software from your device(s).

7. Liability

The Services are provided on an ‘as is’ basis. To the extent permitted by law, Blue Light Maps makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property, or other violation of rights.

You should be particularly aware of the fact that calculation errors may occur when using navigation systems or when using, uploading or modifying (as applicable) navigation systems such as those caused by local environmental conditions and/or incomplete or incorrect data.

In no event shall Blue Light Maps or its suppliers be liable for any consequential loss suffered or incurred by you or any third party arising from the use or inability to use Blue Light Maps, our website, or any other services provided by Blue Light Maps or the materials in Blue Light Maps, even if Blue Light Maps or an authorised representative has been notified, orally or in writing, of the possibility of such damage.

In the context of this agreement, “consequential loss” includes any consequential loss, indirect loss, real or anticipated loss of profit, loss of benefit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of opportunity, loss of savings, loss of reputation, loss of use and/or loss or corruption of data, whether under statute, contract, equity, tort (including negligence), indemnity or otherwise. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.

8. Accuracy of Materials

The materials appearing in our Service or on our website are not comprehensive and are for general information purposes only. To the extent permitted by law, Blue Light Maps does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials in the Service or on our website, or otherwise relating to such materials or on any resources linked to the Service and our website.

9. Links

Blue Light Maps has not reviewed all of the sites linked to Blue Light Maps or on its corresponding website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement, approval or control by Blue Light Maps of the site. Use of any such linked website is at your own risk and we strongly advise you make your own investigations with respect to the suitability of those sites.

10. Notice regarding Apple

To the extent that you are using or accessing Service on an iOS device, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of this clause. You acknowledge that these Terms of Service are between you and Blue Light Maps Limited only, not with Apple Inc. (Apple), and Apple is not responsible for Blue Light Maps Limited and any materials available in the Software.

Apple has no obligation to furnish you with any maintenance and support services with respect to the Service.

If the Service fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price of the mobile application to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Services and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be our responsibility.

Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Blue Light Maps or your use of the Service, including but not limited to (1) product liability claims; (2) any claim that our mobile application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (3) claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.

Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that our mobile application infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights.

You agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the Service, including any Usage Rules set forth in the Apple App Store Agreement of Service.

Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Service and, upon your acceptance of these Terms of Service, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms of Service against you as a third-party beneficiary of these Terms of Service.

You hereby represent and warrant that (1) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (2) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

11. Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your Blue Light Maps account and right to use the Services immediately upon written notice to you for any breach of these Terms of Service.

12. Feedback

If a user or Licensee provides Blue Light Maps with feedback or suggestions, Blue Light Maps may use the feedback or suggestions without restriction or obligation.

13. Publicity

Blue Light Maps may identify the Licensee as a customer of Blue Light Maps in its promotional materials. Blue Light Maps will promptly stop doing so upon Licensee request.

14. Acceptable Use Policy

This acceptable use policy covers the products, services, and technologies (collectively referred to as the “Services”) provided by Blue Light Maps under any ongoing agreement. It’s designed to protect us, our customers and the general Internet community from unethical, irresponsible and illegal activity.

Blue Light Maps customers found engaging in activities prohibited by this acceptable use policy can be liable for service suspension and account termination. In extreme cases, we may be legally obliged to report such customers to the relevant authorities.

14.1. Fair use

We provide our Services with the assumption your use will be “business as usual”. If your use is considered to be excessive, then additional fees may be charged or capacity may be restricted.

We are opposed to all forms of abuse, discrimination, rights infringement and/or any action that harms or disadvantages any group, individual or resource. We expect our customers and, where applicable, their users (“end-users”) to likewise engage our Services with similar intent.

14.2. Customer accountability

We regard our customers as being responsible for their own actions as well as for the actions of anyone using our Services with the customer’s permission. This responsibility also applies to anyone using our Services on an unauthorised basis as a result of the customer’s failure to put in place reasonable security measures.

By accepting Services from us, our customers agree to ensure adherence to this policy on behalf of anyone using the Services as their end users. Complaints regarding the actions of customers or their end-users will be forwarded to the nominated contact for the account in question.

If a customer — or their end-user or anyone using our Services as a result of the customer — violates our acceptable use policy, we reserve the right to terminate any Services associated with the offending account or the account itself or take any remedial or preventative action we deem appropriate without notice. To the extent permitted by law, no credit will be available for interruptions of service resulting from any violation of our acceptable use policy.

Our Services must not be used for the purpose of intentionally or recklessly introducing viruses or malicious code into our Services and systems.

Our Services must not be used for purposely engaging in activities designed to harass another group or individual. Other activities considered unethical, exploitative and malicious include:

14.4. Unauthorised use of Blue Light Maps property

We prohibit the impersonation of Blue Light Maps, the representation of a significant business relationship with Blue Light Maps, or ownership of any Blue Light Maps property (including our Services and brand) for the purpose of fraudulently gaining service, custom, patronage or user trust.

15. Severance
